This is a photo of London’s Trafalgar Square, with the statue of Lord Horatio Nelson on a tall pedastal to honor his victory over Napoleon’s Navy and a long and distinguished career as an Officer in the Royal Navy. This scene has so much significance to me, as a young boy, I read a book over and over about Nelson and a fictional young man who served under him. Around that age, my dad took my brother and I to London and Denmark and I simply fell in love with London. This photo was taken many years later, while I was in my 40s and went back to see all the sights again and experience London on my own. It was literally a dream come true and I feel my greatest personal victory in that I was able to take this trip after a very long and difficult hospital stay that nearly destroyed me physically and mentally.
