A Reading of My Contribution to the Book, "Awakenings" by Bethany Yeiser, BS and Dr. Henry A. Nasrallah, MD

This is a reading of a short chapter of a book available on Amazon meant to serve people with schizophrenia and their loved ones

In this audio podcast, I read a chapter I wrote for the book, “Awakenings” which is a resource available on amazon, at the page: https://amzn.to/3X29zlm The book currently has 35 reviews and has a perfect 5-star average rating.

Bethany Yeiser was a major contributor to this book, and shares credit for it with Dr. Henry Nasrallah, MD. Bethany has other books available on amazon, one of which tells the story of her recovery from schizophrenia, and another that was written by her mother during the same time period. Bethany and Dr. Nasrallah have begun a foundation that serves people with schizophrenia and their families called CureSZ (Comprehensive Understanding through Research and Education for SchiZophrenia.

I currently volunteer for Bethany and have purchased a stock of her books to distribute them to people in the Edmonton area. My volunteer job is basically being part of an Advisory Council meeting which occurs every two weeks where people with schizophrenia and their loved ones join and ask any questions they need answered. The team is incredible, and the other advisors have almost all written books of their own and contributed to “Awakenings.”

Today’s podcast is a reading of my small contribution to this book, and then I simply discuss a few aspects of living with mental illness, this time specifically about eliminating medications that are not necessary to mental health and using proper sleep and meditation methods along with compassion and understanding to prevent becoming angry with others who are battling their own demons as well.

I hate to keep saying this, but it would be great if anyone who listens to and sees benefits in these podcasts and blogs, would consider becoming a paid subscriber. I have a few expenses and have been dedicating more of my work time to producing these, and I would really hate to either have to shut things down or to make it only for people who have paid subscriptions. If you enjoy it, and you can afford it, please support it!
